Welcome to Aranach.com, the homepage of Johnathan Gohde. I have a variety of things online, including my current projects that
I'm working on, some computer generated images I've made, and a whole ton of pictures that I've taken. Other stuff will be put
up as I get time to add it, or create it in the first place. There are new pictures added typically on nearly a monthly basis at the
moment. Fencing trips and the like generate a bunch of pictures, and if I feel like taking some then I typically get around to
adding those to the site as well. Right now this is a lot like a big digital photo album.

Alright. After a delay of a couple weeks, the pictures from the Northwestern tournament are up and ready to be viewed. About half the pictures are from my film camera and the other half are digital. I am continually suprised by how well my cheap digital point and shoot corrects light and color though. Anyway, congrats to all that went. A big thanks to our coaches, especially Ron who made the trip with us as his advice is always so valuable. It was a fun, if not long tournament.

Well, I got bored and look what happened. The site now has a whole new feel to it. New images, new colors, and hopefully soon some new updates to the probably aging content. What inspired such a change? Well, I kinda got bored with the same old look of the site. I also just installed the pre-2.0 GIMP and wanted to try it out. That and I have this whole blue theme going on my desktop at the moment, so I figured I would go all out and make everything blue. Maybe, if I get a whole slew of free time I could set up an options sort of thing and allow various different color shemes and the like. Then again, maybe I should just upload some more pictures, paginate the albums, and stop tinkering with aesthetics.

This may actually be a record for speed in which I've been posting pictures. There are three new albums up beyond the addition of Northwestern from the last post. The pictures from both the trip to Wisconsin Dells and from Minneapolis were taken with my new film SLR camera. I'm really proud of how they turned out. Some of them went beyond my hopes for the shots. Also, I've now posted over 1000 pictures to the web. It was part of the approach to that number which made me realize I should have a better camera than my 80 dollar digital. Anyway, I don't plan on stopping soon. So keep checking back. Also, there are a whole slew of older pictures I need to sort through that I have already taken. There's probably another few hundred that I could post if I get the time from older events and wanderings.

After a long period of me being entirely too busy, I've put up some new pictures from the Fencing Club's most recent trip down to Northwestern. We took a lot of beginners and they did well, so congrats to them. Hopefully coming soon are pictures from my new camera, some stuff from Wisconsin Dells and Minneapolis in the fall.

Alright, just had to post this because I think it is hilarious. At the U of M we have housing booklets for the poor incoming freshman. In the booklet is a number of rules and regulations. Here is a direct quote out of the booklet, with my added emphasis. Candles, incense, or other materials (such as live fresh cut evergreen wreaths, trees, garland) that are designed to burn are not permitted in the residence halls/apartments. Yup, apparently the design of wreaths, trees, and garland is to burn. I never knew.
